Ancient Fort-Sathgrah Historical Fort–Hidden History of Mir Chakar Azam Rind-Untold Story and Hidden Heritage of Punjab
Hello Friends! today I visited Sathgrah, an ancient place near Okara Punjab Pakistan.
Sathgrah
Sathgrah is a historical village located in Okara district. Sathgrah is famous for its historical fort and the tomb of Mir Chakar Azam Rind Baloch. The most reliable information about the construction of the fort is that this fort was built by Mir Chakar Azam Rind Baloch, but there were also such relics around Sathgrah fort that prove that this place was a part of the ancient civilization of the Indus Valley.Mir Chakar Azam
Mir Chakar Khan Rind is the son of Mir Shahak Khan Rind. Mir Chakar Khan Rind, also known as Chakar Azam, is not just a name or a personality but represents the entire culture of the Baloch nation - their history, economy, society, ethics, customs, bravery, courage, enthusiasm, rhetoric, strength of character, devotion, loyalty and revenge. Sardar Mir Chakar Rind himself was a brave man who valued not only his friends but also his enemies. Mir Chakar said that revenge of those who dared to attack my forts is also dear to me. Mir Chakar Khan gained immense popularity at a young age during the establishment of Makran. During the attack on Kalat, he displayed such extraordinary courage that people were left speechless. After the death of Mir Shahak, his son Mir Chakar ruled the entire Rind region. This was a golden era in the history of Rind, yet its end was so dark and tragic that during the last reign of Mir Chakar, not only Rind but the entire Baloch nation was so divided that they are still united today. Mir Chakar's era was a period of rise and prosperity for the Baloch and even today Mir Chakar Rind is considered their national hero. The Baloch still take his name with respect and honor. Mir Chakar said that a man keeps his word. And he did. He provided protection to a rich woman named Gohar, risking his life to protect her. He waged a war against his own brothers, the Lashari, which turned into a thirty-year struggle. Many famous Rinds and Lasharis were killed in this war, including Mir Chakar's two young brothers, Mirhan, Hamal, Jaro, Chinwar, Hilir, Super, Jund, Bebigar, Pir Shah and hundreds of other brave Baloch. In Baloch social life, lying is considered a sin, like breaking someone's word. Chakar Khan Rind said that speaking the truth is the Baloch tradition and lying is a sign of weakness of faith. In Baloch society, anyone who lies or breaks a promise has neither place nor respect. In their eyes, they are dead. There is a saying among the Rinds: "A dead Rind finds no way out, his life is trapped." The Baloch people never raise their hands against women and children. Hospitality is an integral part of Baloch society. They consider guests as a gift from God.There are different accounts regarding
the date of birth of Sardar Chakar Khan Rind, the most reliable of which is
1468. Kalat was conquered in 1486. At that time, Sardar Chakar was only 16
years old. In 1488, he took control of all the areas and Mir Shahaq died in the
same year. In 1489, a thirty-year war broke out between the Rind and Lashari,
which threw the Baloch tribes into chaos. A jirga (popular assembly) was then
called, in which the Jatoi tribe assumed a united leadership. Mir Bijar Khan
Mirwani, the Naib Amir of the Baloch, a great warrior (and conqueror of India)
and leader of the Jatoi tribe, was appointed Nawab of Kalat. Although a truce
was agreed between the Rind and the Lashar, they could not make peace. In late
1519 another jirga of all the Baloch tribes was called in which war was
declared against the tribe that refused to make peace. However, Mir Chakar Khan
declared a truce without retaliation, thus ending hostilities with the Lashar tribe.
This great and seemingly endless war ended in 1519. In 1520, Mir Chakar Khan
traveled to Multan with his nephew and son-in-law, Mir Nautak Khan, the eldest
son of Mir Bijar Khan. He granted the patronage of Mirwana, a major Indian
trading port owned by Mir Bijar Khan, to his grandson Mir Lohar Khan and all
the surrounding lands to Mir Nautak Khan. In 1523, he finally settled in the
city of Satghara, in the Okara district of present-day Pakistan. In 1555, under
the patronage of Mir Bijar Khan Jatoi, he joined forces with Humayun to attack
Delhi, defeat the successors of Sher Shah Suri, and capture the city. In 1565,
this great general departed this mortal world, joined the true Creator, and was
buried in Satghara, where his tomb still exists today. The link to a short video about this tomb of mir chakar azam rind is below.

Hindu In Sathgrah:
A historical temple located outside the Sathgrah Fort. There is no written record regarding the construction of this temple, but it is clear from the temple that the majority of Hindus lived in this area. The temple is located on the banks of the small canal; there was also a Ashnan Ghat (Bathing Area) near the Mandir. It is quite possible that this small canal supplied water to Ashnan Ghat. The canal has now taken the form of a dirty drain and even the traces of the (Bathing Area) have disappeared. While the building of the temple is also being destroyed with time. Dilapidated historic building (for which there is no reliable description)
There is a dilapidated historical building outside the Satghara Fort about which there is no reliable information, but many people call it a watch tower, while according to my estimate, it is the tomb of a Baloch chieftain. Because there is a building of the same style in Makran Balochistan, which is attributed to a Baloch commander named Mir Buzurg, who was a commander of the Mughal army. This building is also on a high mound in the same style, but there is no grave marker here. It is quite possible that a Baloch chieftain had it built for himself but could not be buried here. The link to a short video about this mound is below.Link
